This is a wider angle view of the same mother Artibeus, showing some of the other members of the Harem. For the most part, they are relaxing and having a snooze in the corner of the roost box, except for one bright eyed individual that looks on.

Here is half a section of ceiling of one area of the enclosure. The colony is housed in a large artificial cave with a flight approximately 12' X 16' square. The nylon plastic netting is used to give the 'cave'a rough surface in all of its alcoves for the bats to cling to and hang from. They tend to prefer the smaller roosts however. They are intelligent and inquisitive by nature, often landing on their attendant to 'check him out' while they are being fed, or while their enclosure is cleaned.
