Here is another Picture of Shylo, one of the female Ferruginous Hawks at the Centre. (She's actually a 'Star' at our public demos)

gives you some idea of Shylo's fantastic speed.
Here she is landing on the gloved hand of her trainer.

Now that Shylo has actually landed, this photo was possible.

(Oh well, Shylo isn't always completely cooperative)

Here we see Shylo's beautiful rusty "ferruginous" highlights.

This is 'Shyak', the male Ferruginous Hawk. Male Ferruginous Hawks are smaller than the females are. This is true of all diurnal (day active) Raptors.
