Further Details about the Centre

As we may have mentioned elsewhere on this site, we are a small group that have been devoting our lives to this work since 1987. Virtually all of the successes that the Centre has built itself upon, have come from the personal savings and finances of its directors and staff. All of which are volunteers.
We are understaffed, overburdened, and struggling. Our priority is to keep all of the animals properly maintained, and healthy, and to continue growing. We do this quite well despite what, at times, seem like overwhelming odds.
This entire web site was created as a communal effort by the directors, and staff of the Centre, on used computer equipment. Some of it donated, some of it purchased second hand. Some parts we did not have the money for when they were needed, and so they were worked for in trade for housework and renovations to a friend that dabbles in used computer equipment.
This site was written on a computer made in 1993, with a few very old hard drives hooked up in a chain. The photographic images were taken with a borrowed Nikon Coolpix 500 digital camera. In other words, even the gathering of the equipment used to develop this site, did not come to us easily. Since our main focus and education has revolved entirely around animals, we also had to teach ourselves computer and internet skills to make this site possible.
All of the money that is donated is put towards the animals and their requirements. We certainly require your assistance far more than most charitable groups that you will probably find on the internet. The future value of the Centre is dependent upon the funds we manage to raise to meet the needs and requirements of the Centre and its continued expansion.
As stated elsewhere on this site, we do not pay salaries, or waste money on expensive mailing campaigns, or television programs. There are no corporate offices, and no CEOs, no political agendas, and no B.S. Only a small group of very dedicated individuals working around the clock to support and propagate more endangered animals than any other registered charity would ever consider doing.
However, there is a great deal that a group such as ourselves can accomplish, and it is the hope of this writer that this web site will suffice to reach across the gap of time and space, through social barriers, and tired jaded spirits, and serve to relay to you the integrity and vision that we have ourselves been guided by all these years. We are a testament to what the little guy can do if he just applies himself, and proof positive evidence that every person on this planet can make a significant difference if he only believes and tries.
