Once a species is routinely captive bred, it is no longer possible for it to become extinct. Hence, captive breeding projects are conservation's life insurance policy against extinction. These programs drastically reduce pressure on wild populations, and ensure the continued existence of any species utilized in such projects even if their habitat is destroyed.

We have been doing this work since 1987, in private, and without fanfare.

It is important to mention that we are not funded by any other group or organization. In contrast, many of the larger and quite well known 'wildlife funds in the world' do not support captive breeding programs such as ours. as this is not in their mandate. Perhaps they are forgetting just how vital a collection of animals from a particular species has proven to be in the past, when it suddenly becomes needed. (See our article "Why Conservation through Captive Propagation?")

How often have you watched a television program on rare and endangered wildlife, and felt helpless knowing species were slipping away, only wishing you could become more directly involved?

You can become involved by sending a donation of any size to the Centre to help us with our work. Please ensure that we have your correct name and address so that we may send you a receipt for tax purposes.
******We need your help now! *****
Everyone involved with the Centre is a volunteer. As a result, our overhead is kept to a minimum and all money received can be applied fully to the purpose for which it is intended. The care and the maintenance of the animals at the Centre.

Remember, by sending a donation to us, you will be contributing to the benefit of future generations. You will help ensure that the species we have now, and others species the Centre will endeavor to place into future breeding projects will not become extinct. If the buffalo had not been bred privately years ago, this magnificent creature that once roamed the North American plains would have long ago joined the Passenger Pigeon in extinction. The Passenger Pigeon was once so numerous that it used to darken the skies in North America with it's numbers when they came to roost!
To ensure that more species do not travel this path to extinction please send a much needed, and greatly appreciated donation today to the Centre.
