Here are two views of one of the pairs of Swainson's Hawks breeding at the Centre. The top photo shows the male and the female. The bottom photo also shows one of the near fully grown immatures from the season. You will notice the 'white' debris surrounding the nest and wall behind. In hawks, their act of deficating is referred to as a "slice". Something they do regularly, with some force.
;-)
As this photo was taken during their breeding season, most of their slices are visible in the photo. As these birds are of wild temperment, it is definately best not to disturb them while they are raising young for a cleaning. Now that the young are nearly grown up, we can soon step in to clean up their aviary.
